Christine Cserti-Gazdewich is a transfusion medicine specialist and consultant hematologist, originally trained in internal medicine and clinical hematology in Toronto, with fellowship training in transfusion medicine at Harvard. Based at the University Health Network for 14 years, she co-directs a large blood transfusion service through several teaching hospitals of the University of Toronto. She also has oversight responsibilities for a number of community/rural client site hospital transfusion services situated across the (1 million square kilometres) province of Ontario, Canada. Her chief interests in practice, leadership, and research are in immunohematology, hemovigilance, and complex/constrained haemotherapy scenarios.
This is her 2nd time in Australia, with her 1st visit in March 2011 being the incontestable driver of a life-changing scuba certification – for the love of reefs and underwater nature.
